New details on Brock Lesnar’s current WWE contract

Brock Lesnar

Brock Lesnar shocked everyone when he showed up at UFC 226 and shoved the newly crowned world champion, confirming his return to the MMA league.

This move left people puzzled about his future with WWE especially because he still holds the Universal Championship and till then there was no news on what the company was planning for his future.

Though during the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed some details about Brock’s current WWE contract which may give us an idea about his future with the company.

According to Meltzer, Lesnar’s current contract expires in August this year and the Beast has only one more match left in his current deal with the promotion.

This doesn’t necessarily mean that he will end up dropping the title but if one has to guess then the most obvious speculation would be that Brock Lesnar will be dropping the title at the upcoming SummerSlam PPV, before making his UFC return.

Guess they will have to make another belt then since they don’t care about stealing apparently.

the guy needs to just f*** off already

  • Stupid WWE

The Universal Title should thrown in the trash. The title means nothing if it’s never defended and the champion is never around. Oh, and if you lose it, you never get a rematch for it, but for some reason, you’re okay with that.

If he gets knocked out its very unlikely. Joe Rogan and the UFC don’t like interviewing someone who’s just been knocked unconscious because they often don’t know what is going on.

I’ve been saying that as well

Calling it now.. Strowman will cash in his MiB after Lesnar’s UFC fight.. win or lose. Vince is negotiating with Dana White. It’ll be huge. Strowman rips the cage door!

You are right Medusa threw her belt in the trash.

I remember one time a woman champ, forgot her name, went to WCW and threw the wwe belt in the trash.

WWE should let Lesnar go. What a waste of time and money. If this was anyone else they would have been let go a long time ago.

Disagree. Brock still has over 6 months left on his suspension for him to fight again. And hes probably going to fight soon after that, bc it gives DC enough time to heal and train for a fighter like Brock. WWE, would lose money in that scenario, bc the UFC would not promote or allow WWE promotions at a fight, I would imagine. And it would further tarnish the WWE title, it would be over a year that the WWE wouldn’t see their title. And I’m already saying Brock is going to lose to DC, so that wouldn’t look good. And he needs alone time to train and then heal up after. He’d be gone longer than he already is. Brock is not a commodity anymore IMO. Especially if he doesnt win the UFC title. He hasn’t brought any more ratings or buys, for quite some time. I dont think hes been in the top 5 seller for merch, his entire 2nd run.

Does Madusa ring a bell? Not saying he’d ever do it… but it has happened before.

  • Darrin Tyler

He has to defend it, his contract is up. You just can’t leave the company with their belt if you’re not working for them anymore…its WWE property

  • Darrin Tyler

He obviously HAS to drop the title to whom ever he has to wrestle to end his contract. And if its true about next month then it will be at Summerslam

  • gar216

WWE needs to throw piles of money at Brock if he gets the UFC Heavyweight Title fight. If Brock could manage to hold both titles it would have such a huge impact on WWE and the meaning of their title. At the same time, it would probably tarnish the UFC brand.

    It’s win/win for WWE.

Pretty sure they’ve reported all possible outcomes of Brock being or not being at Summerslam. I think the only thing not reported is him wrestling at Summerslam but not defending his title.
