We noted before how the report of Mike and Maria Kanellis asking for their release from WWE made some buzz yesterday and soon afterward another similar rumor was heard.
It was suggested that the former NXT Tag Team Champions The Revival have asked for their release, though at the point this news was not confirmed.
Although in the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer confirmed that the duo asked for their release after their match on Raw, but speculated that their request is unlikely to be accepted:
“The Revival, after their win over Kalisto & Metalik on the 1/13 Raw, while still in their gear, asked for their release. As of press time they haven’t been given their release. The word we got is that nobody who asks for their release right now is expected to be given it for obvious reasons.”
While the reports so far haven’t gone in the details of why they made this decision, it’s easy to imagine that the two stars were not happy with their position on the main roster.
