- WWE shocked the wrestling world last night at WrestleMania XXX when Brock Lesnar defeated The Undertaker and ended The Streak. Taker’s WrestleMania record is now 21-1. The announcers talked like Taker was leaving for good this time but that could be part of the storylines.

– Daniel Bryan defeated Batista and Randy Orton in last night’s main event to become the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion. The pay-per-view ended with confetti coming down as the arena chanted “yes!” along with Bryan.

I thought the pause was more of a “even we, the WWE staff/crew are in shock” before finally snapping out of it and announcing lesnar the winner.

  • Michael Bradbury

Maybe the best Wrestlemania ever. I even enjoyed the Diva’s match!

I agree, the streak did nothing to secure his hof status, that was secured years ago.
As for Bryan, unless that screw things up again with a rematch with Orton, and give the title back to him, we have already seen that Lesnar has put himself in the title picture by declaring himself a contender.

  • CC

Actually the fact its predetermined by a script means it was done on purpose.

I believe the last 5 Wrestlmania lead to the streak ending last night. I believe Undertaker has wanted Brock Lasner to be the one the moment he came back to the WWE. It not anybody choice but Undertaker. Brock Lasner is one of the best guys that could do it out of respect. The match was not to great but it ok it will be talk about the most nobody better to me to end the streak then Brock Lasner he even gave a little wink to Undertaker as he was leaving.

WWE had the chance to do one of two things to keep things right. Either have Taker retire whenever with an unbroken streak (which would be a better legacy than finally having it broken), or let some young upcoming star get really over by doing the impossible, Instead they give it to a guy who doesnt need it.

I never had a problem with the streak ending but damn you want to talk about anti-climactic. Any of Taker’s last 6 WM matches would’ve made much more appropriate final matches and against far more deserving opponents. To see Taker take a generic finish in such a boring match was really sad. I expected the end of the streak to be one of the most epic moments in the history of wrestling. Or atleast better than what we got.

  • Rob ‘Richard Hammond’ Picken

    well that was garbage

  • Shawn OB

It’s a show guys. He didn’t do it on purpose. No.

  • thepewp

That was sealed when he won the UFC Championship.

This just made him the biggest industry heel for now. The question is, will WWE be smart and feud Bryan and Brock to take advantage of the heat?

  • thepewp

Ignore the junk news sites reporting that Brock forcefully held down Taker “changing the script” that is garbage. If anything, the result was kept a surprise to avoid spoiling and everyone believed Taker would win, so people had to scramble to react from their own shock. Also, I am glad the commentators didn’t just do “as normal” after such a big event, it was a good organic feel.

The Undertaker is a great performer and I feel that he had a great ride. Hats off.

  • Timothy Davis

Yeah I think Taker did it on the fly and no one knew. Brock seemed shocked but appreciative hence the wink. Just my opinion.

  • Adam

Im okay with the streak ending. If by some chance sting does come in to face taker next year at wrestlemania, if the streak was on the line, we all know taker would win. Ending the streak now imo would make the potential taker vs sting match much bigger

  • oppa

The big money matches that could be left for Taker all depended on the streak being on the line. The streak ending without it being Takers last match would cost the company millions of dollars. The could have made millions off of Sting, Rock, Cena and if you could convince him, Austin all trying to break the streak. I don’t see them doing this unless it was Taker’s call and truly his last match.

  • Pissed Off Fan =(

I have to totally agree. Something about that ending just didn’t seem right. Some people are saying that Taker hurt his hip and couldn’t continue. Others are saying he wanted the streak to end so he can finally retire. It’s really strange if you ask me

  • Matt Trovato

It’s almost like it wasn’t supposed to end the way it did. It took a while for them to announce Lesnar as the winner, almost like they were scrambling to figure out what was going on.

  • Will Henderson

i never thought i would see the day the streak ended, what a shocker, i didn’t watched the event but saw the results, makes sense, the Deadman did hinted it recently and sadly it looks like Brock is now heel for life because who ever ends the streak would had been branded heel for life. it makes sense. the only man to win a WWE championship, NCAA wrestling championship and UFC championship is now the man who ended a historic streak/WrestleMania win-loss record that could never be beaten. that’s something Mr. WrestleMania Shawn Michaels, Kane, HHH or any other guy couldn’t do. i’m shocked but ok with Lesnar upsetting the wrestling world with this. this just sealed Lesnar’s fate as a future WWE Hall of Famer.
