As we noted before Kevin Owens left the WWE’s tour of South America in the middle due to some personal issues which forced the company to pull him from this past Sunday’s Live Event in Chile.
Since AJ Styles couldn’t appear on the show either because he was working the TLC PPV, WWE announced that Triple H will make his in-ring return during the show to fill in for both these stars.
Many believed that there would be some backstage heat on Kevin after this incident as WWE had to waste the in-ring return of Triple H at a Live Event without a proper buildup.
However, according to Sports Illustrated, there is no heat on the former Universal Champion for walking out of the tour due to the undisclosed family emergencies last week.
As announced during this week’s episode of SmackDown Live, Kevin Owens will go head to head with Shinsuke Nakamura next week in a qualifying match. The winner will get a spot on the Male SmackDown team for the traditional Survivor Series Elimination match.
