NXT Star rumoured to be debuting on main roster soon

Hideo Itami can be considered one of the most unfortunate NXT Stars. He debuted in NXT before the likes of Finn Balor and Shinsuke Nakamura but is still stuck there due to the various injuries he has suffered since his arrival in WWE.

Now it appears that he will finally be making his Main Roster debut though the plans for his arrival on WWE TV might not exactly please the fans who are waiting to see Itami competing against the big names of WWE Roster.

According to Pwinsider, the word backstage at SmackDown yesterday night was that Hideo will be debuting on the main roster soon and joining the Cruiserweight Division.

Though the site does not reveal any possible date for the Japanese Star’s main roster debut so we’ll have to wait and see when it happens.

Do you think it’s a good idea to put Hideo Itami in the Cruiserweight Division? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section

Back then, the WWE’s version of the cruiserweight division consisted of already-established mainstream stars like Spike Dudley, Rey Mysterio, Tajiri, Kidman, Ultimo Dragon, etc. Who the hell is this Noam Dar guy? Drew Gulak? Who is Ariya Daivari, other than Shawn’s brother?

Also, the cruiserweights back in the day were allowed to wrestle outside of their “division”.

Or how about just send the Cruiserweight division back to Smackdown? People have seemed to have forgotten about its inital run a few years ago, and up until they stopped giving a crap and started to put the belt on the likes of Chavo Guerrero senior, Jaqueline & Hornswoggle it was actually really good.

Even going back further to the 90s when they were “light heavyweights” with the likes of Taka, essa Rios, christian an so on they were more exciting

Agree the Crusierweight should be on NXT. It would get way more exposure on NXT.

They really are, and unfortunately people just don’t care. They need to dissolve the whole division before they lose any more of their talent before they lose any more of their talent. I say cancel 205 Live and replace it with a show focusing on a more established division that more people care about, the women’s division.

They can further current championship storylines, have squash matches to build up new stars, feature video packages on NXT talents, and stuff like that. The women get more exposure, and the cruiserweights are free to move up and down the main roster without being confined to their one division. Everyone’s happy.

If it cuts the fat and gets star power on 205 Live, like adding a few of the UK guys, I’m fine with it.

  • Solid

Well that’s not a waste at all… maybe they’re desperate for people to give a crap about 205 live.
