Word spread yesterday that former world heavyweight champion Rey Mysterio was backstage to finalize his next deal with the WWE. According to the reports, part of the deal included a match with John Cena at Wrestlemania, who is currently looking for his “road to Wrestlemania.”
While this rumor got some traction, PWInsider reported that Mysterio hadn’t been seen in LA where Smackdown Live took place. The plan, at this point, is still for John Cena to take on the Undertaker at Wrestlemania.
While Rey Mysterio would like to come back to the WWE, he would only like to do so as a part-time talent, and the WWE wants him back on a full-time schedule. At the moment, it is not known if the two parties have worked out a deal or not.
