- TMZ has announced that Randy “Macho Man” Savage died in a car accident earlier today in Tampa, FL. Lanny Poffo spoke with TMZ and stated that his brother suffered a heart attack while he was behind the wheel around 10AM today, and from there lost control of his vehicle. Savage, 58, just celebrated his one-year wedding anniversary to wife Lynn earlier this month.
According to TMZ, Savage was driving his 2009 Jeep Wrangler when he veered across a concrete median. He then went through oncoming traffic and collided head on with a tree. Savage was transported to Largo Medical center, where he died from his injuries. Savage’s wife Lynn was in the car with him, and survived the crash with minor injures. She had been transported to a different hospital for treatment. Officials have stated that Randy and Lynn were both wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident and that alcohol was not a factor.
We here at Wrestling-Edge.com would like to extended our condolences to the family and friends of Randy “Macho Man” Savage.
