Randy “Macho Man” Savage Dead After Car Accident Today

– TMZ has announced that Randy “Macho Man” Savage died in a car accident earlier today in Tampa, FL. Lanny Poffo spoke with TMZ and stated that his brother suffered a heart attack while he was behind the wheel around 10AM today, and from there lost control of his vehicle. Savage, 58, just celebrated his one-year wedding anniversary to wife Lynn earlier this month.

According to TMZ, Savage was driving his 2009 Jeep Wrangler when he veered across a concrete median. He then went through oncoming traffic and collided head on with a tree. Savage was transported to Largo Medical center, where he died from his injuries. Savage’s wife Lynn was in the car with him, and survived the crash with minor injures. She had been transported to a different hospital for treatment. Officials have stated that Randy and Lynn were both wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident and that alcohol was not a factor.

We here at would like to extended our condolences to the family and friends of Randy “Macho Man” Savage.

  • Kentucky Referee

I got to know Randy Poffo when his father ran the Outlaw International Championship Wrestling promotion out of my hometown of Lexington, Kentucky. There was not a nicer guy backstage than the Macho Man. One of the first matches I ever refereed personally was Poffomania Randy Savage and Sir Lanny Poffo Vs Jerry “The King” Lawler and “Superstar” Bill Dundee at Rupp Arena.

All of the Poffo family are a class act. It saddens me greatly to hear of his passing To Lanny and the rest of the Poffo Family, know that this Kentuckian is mourning with you.

R.I.P. Randy from one Randy to another.

Thank you Randy for making going out into the ring so much fun, thank you for all the laughs backstage.

Thank you Poffo Family for sharing him with us for all these years.

When I was a kid, Macho Man turning on Hogan made me start liking the “bad guys” in wrestling. His interviews along with his matches kept me turning back to wwf while hulkamania was running wild. Fueds with jake the snake and the ultimate warrior were a couple of my favs. Def gonna snap into a couple slim jims tonight in memory of Macho Madness…OOOOOOOOOOOH YEAAAAAAAAAA

  • Too Hot To Handle, Too Cold To Hold

R.I.P. “Macho Man” Randy (Savage) Poffo. One of the greatest of all time. I’ve been waiting him for him to come back to WWE for nearly two decades, I wonder what big plans he had this year… gone too soon. You never got the respect you truly deserved, and you will be greatly missed.

To me, there will never be a more talented, more gifted wrestler than Macho Man Randy Savage. I agree with Mabry. The WWE did get it all wrong. I believe that if Hulk Hogan never stepped into the spotlight of the WWE, Macho Man could have carried that company himself. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. Today the wrestling world lost a true Hall Of Famer. R.I.P Macho Man. We will miss you.

  • This is not right! T_T RIP Macho Man

  • HBK

RIP Randy “Macho Man” Savage, one of the greatest “Wrestlers” ever…..WWF/E got it all wrong, it was Savage who should have been allways on top, not Hogan.
