Why Randy Orton Didn’t Compete at Backlash Last Night

According to a report from PWInsider, Randy Orton was not allowed to compete against Bray Wyatt last night at Backlash because he has yet to be cleared to compete following his TKO loss to Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam. Orton was written off the match with a backstage beatdown segment at the hands of Wyatt, who slammed Orton’s ankle repeatedly with a door.

Word is that WWE officials have been aware of Orton’s issues with being cleared at least two weeks ago, and PWInsider reports that it is definitely concussion related despite there being some speculation about that.

If Orton’s injury is concussion related, however, then why would they have let him perform the RKO that night? Could the injury concern be to the staples in his head instead? Your thoughts?
