Randy Orton Reportedly Involved in Altercation with Fan at Gym

According to a report from North East Arkansas (NEA), WWE Superstar Randy Orton was involved in an altercation with a fan at a gym before SmackDown Live last night (Tuesday, January 17, 2017). Anthony Martin, a local businessmen and life-long wrestling fan, attended the Trim Gym with some friends for a workout, when he spotted Orton across the room.

Martin then approached Orton asking for a picture, however, ‘The Viper’ pointed to his headphones indicating that he can’t hear him and gave Martin a friendly fist-bump instead. Martin then left Orton along but would proceed to take a picture of Orton from across the room, setting the former WWE Champ off:

“He saw me snap the picture and came up to me got in my face and said, ‘What the f**k are you doing? I said no **ddamn pictures! Are you f**king stupid?'” Martin said. “I said, ‘No. You said you couldn’t hear me.”

“Randy came over to Anthony, grabbed his hand and was belittling Anthony and pretty much was saying m’fer this, m’fer that,” added Martin’s friend Cody Halstead, who was with him at the gym.

Orton eventually calmed down and told Martin and his friends to ‘enjoy their workout’ before leaving the gym.

True, but he doesn’t look too happy as the photo was taken.

You would have thought that WWE or THQ would have given Randy a new hoodie by now.

  • CC

Well its evidence he was there and the picture was taken, but no evidence of Ortons reaction other than the comments of two “fans”.

  • Killswitch

The photo used for this article was the one that was taken. What more do you need?

Awww, such a fan and no cell phone footage to back it up? I thought “taking video’s of everything” was the new trend these days. Guess someone forgot.

Orton’s reaction may have been a little harsh, but being a celebrity or athlete doesn’t mean it’s okay for anyone to take a photo of you without their consent. It’s no different than taking a picture of your classmate or coworker in public. It’s just common courtesy. Give them the same respect and personal space as you would a complete stranger. Think of it this way: you know who they are, but just like a complete stranger, they have no idea who you are, or what your intentions are with that photo.

I mean he fist bumped the guy. What else did he want?

doesnt becoming a wrestler the fans actually care about mean people take pictures of you when you show up in their gym? if people dont care enough to take pictures that would be a sign of failure. there are lots of jobs orton could have done that would have given him more money and he could have avoided all the horrible fan adulation. who expects privacy in a public gym? that behaviour is probably out of character for randy to be fair.

  • blkwolf13

This is so true. And it is a problem lol they dont even own the character let alone the talent behind it lol

  • D2K

The problem is that people in fact feel that they OWN professional athletes.

Ppl dont understand that they are human beings and need time to themselves as well. Randy Orton was not performing or doing a publicity stunt, the man was unwinding at the gym trying to be a human being. then we have a dumb fan all up in his face trying to take a picture. clearly Orton didn’t want to be bothered so he kept his earphones. You fans have rights to your cable, your WWE subscription, and you are Arena seats. Not to the human beings themselves.

He might’ve overacted but he’s entitled to his privacy. What would you do if somebody started taking pics of you without asking?
