Reason for the Punk vs. Ryback Finish at Battleground, Notes on the Power Outage & Attendance

– It was estimated that around 12,000 fans were in attendance for WWE’s Battleground pay-per-view at the First Niagara Center in Buffalo, New York last night.

– Regarding the power outage before the main event, WWE’s video wall and set lights went out but the arena lights stayed on. One fan noted that Brad Maddox came out to inform fans of a power outage but Justin Roberts also made an announcement.

– WWE did the low blow finish to the CM Punk vs. Ryback match at Battleground because there was a feeling that neither man needed to lose the match.

He doesnt deserve one. The guy is useless in the ring.
Normally Punk can get a good match out of anyone, but that Battleground match was boring as hell. The pace was so slow it was damn near sending me to sleep.

Yeah neither man needed to lose it, so they had Ryback lose? how the hell does that work. Thats not even a reason for the low blow.

double countout wouldve been nice.. i use it in tew2010 if i dont want the two workers to lose~

“…neither man needed to lose the match” – okay, so why not do a double count out or something and let them continue to brawl, and then lead that up to a HIAC rematch from last year?

I feel bad for Ryback, just another guy WWE dropped the ball on. He hasn’t even had a PPV win, has he?
