Reason why Braun Strowman was removed from the Money In The Bank match

This week’s episode of Monday Night Raw saw Sami Zayn defeating Braun Strowman with the help of Drew McIntyre and Baron Corbin.

This victory earned Zayn a spot at the upcoming Money In The Bank ladder match which was originally slated for Strowman and so people started speculating on why the Monster Among Men was removed from the bout.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer provided some update on the situation recently. He revealed that Strowman has actually been working hurt; however, he has been removed from the match for a long term storyline:

“The thing is – the Braun Strowman being taken out of the match is part of a longer story that will play out… He’s hurt – he’s clearly hurt, but he’s not hurt enough to be taking time off. That’s not why he’s not in the match, no.”

While Meltzer didn’t reveal the details of the storylines, he did point out that Strowman’s hand is injured and the former Wyatt Family member likely has a significant triceps or biceps injury.
