Report: AEW makes “outstanding” contract offer to top WWE star

According to WrestleVotes, which previously has been responsible for breaking stories such as Daniel Bryan’s new ‘eco-friendly’ WWE Championship, has made a significant claim regarding AEW. They state the company has made a ‘significant’ offer to a current WWE star:

They did clarify it could be a talent with an expiring contract rather than a long-term deal but will obviously not release more.

Could not agree more! Yeah hating on a company before it even gets rolling sweet! Some of us are tired of kiddie based sports entertainment and are ready for some adult wrestling again!

  • Nicholas Giambattista

It sounding more like TNA and there empty promise. Then it turn out to be not a big deal which ended up hurting TNA. AEW has to be very careful we were all interested when this was first announced now we are getting annoyed.

  • Soulshroude

    My point, exactly.

  • StoneColdBeckyLynch

Not sure if they actually gave their word. But if the competition is doing it then what does it matter? WWE lies all the time. This ‘lie’ isn’t gonna somehow lead to a bad product. Sorry, if you hate AEW, you need a better reason.

  • CC

You miss the point entirely. Cody publicly went out there and stated that AEW would not pull tactics like that as they want to set themselves apart from other companies, so to go back on that only a couple of weeks later just makes them look as trustworthy as Vince and co.

  • CC

I was thinking exactly the same thing.

  • Keith Learmonth

That’s not the issue though. The issue is that they’ve said one thing, and then done the exact opposite, allegedly, which makes you wonder how many of the other things they’ve said they’re doing differently were just lies.

It’s a bad look for a company that doesn’t even have a TV deal yet to be breaking their word.

  • StoneColdBeckyLynch

They are a wrestling company at the end of the day, how different can they be? They also have to be smart

  • Keith Learmonth

I think the problem here is that AEW said they’re not going to do that stuff, because they want to be different, yet here they are, apparently doing exactly the same.

  • Keith Learmonth

    So it’s Dean Ambrose, then?

  • StoneColdBeckyLynch

If WWE can send offers to Kenny Omega while he is under contract with NJPW, then who cares

  • Soulshroude

I’m guessing AEW no longer wants to honor that “promise” they made by not “reaching out to contracted” wrestlers?
