TNA officials are reportedly trying to sign former WWE Superstar Rey Mysterio. TNA made a big play for him this past week but hasn’t signed a TNA contract as of this writing. Mysterio  is expected to sign with Lucha Underground if they get picked up for a second season by the El Rey Network.

Both head writer John Gaburick and TNA President Dixie Carter have talked with Mysterio this past week about him coming to the promotion.
Both have heavily pushed the idea that if Mysterio signed with them then he could still work anywhere he wanted on his days off and possibly get him TV/movie roles.
The idea is to push him as their Mexican superstar.
