WWE isn’t in any discussions about a potential sale of the company according to a story at NYPost.com.
There has been strong rumors that John de Mol, a Dutch Entertainment mogul, has a standing offer to acquire majority ownership of WWE should CEO Vince McMahon ever decide to sell the company.
A statement in the article puts to bed any rumors, saying the following:
“WWE, controlled by founder and Chief Executive Officer Vince McMahon through Class B shares, isn’t in any discussions about a potential sale.”
A spokesman for de Mol also offered the following:
“We do not comment or give explanations on the investments of John de Mol and therefore also not with respect to his investment in WWE.”
