Report: WWE staying cold on Hulk Hogan despite Crown Jewel appearance

With Hulk Hogan’s recent appearance at WWE Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia, it’s understandable why many would think this is the start of a return to the company for the Hulkster. Well, according to F4WOnline, that is unlikely to happen and the chances of an in-ring return for the Hall of Famer are even slimmer. Here are some direct quotes from Bryan Alvarez:

“I got a question for everybody coincidentally. When’s the last time you saw Hulk Hogan’s name on When’s the last time you saw Hulk Hogan’s name on WWE’s social media. He’s vanished off the face of the Earth.”

“The social media department has basically been told 0 Hulk Hogan. Not saying he’s not going to be back again. I think that they’re just biding their time and he’s going to do his big return again this time on a show in the United States. But boy did he drop off the face of the Earth after that Crown Jewel show.”

“All I can tell you from people who at the Crown Jewel show, like not fans but people who were actually in there and saw Hogan that they would be very, very, very surprised if he had another match. So I don’t think he’s going to wrestle.”

“But he’s a guy — he’s Hulk Hogan — so when you go to talk to sponsors and stuff who better to send than the biggest star of the 80’s? A lot of executives grew up watching him so that’s why they want him back. A lot of merchandising opportunities and things so, he won’t be coming back to wrestle.”

What do you guys think? Would you like to see Hogan return anytime soon, and if so, how would you book it?

Half an hour of Raw to say, brotha brotha brotha, jack jack jack, dude dude dude etc etc etc

  • Darrin Tyler

He’s done. In more ways than one.

  • Keith Learmonth

    I agree.

I just feel like if we absolutely have to have him back, can he at least.. you know, do something? Anything beyond his usual “show up, use half an hour of Raw to talk about past accomplishments that everyone already knows about, pose for 5 minutes, leave” routine.

The problem is, you know that being WWE they would annoyingly pay him more as a manager than they would for most of their top stars.
I mean look at Lesnar. Probably gets paid more than the bulk of the roster for doing a fraction of the work.

It’s somebody tell wwe it’s 2018 not 1988… nobody cares about hogan anymore

  • Keith Learmonth

If he -must- come back, do something worthwhile with him, at least.

Dude can’t wrestle at all anymore, can’t take back bumps or do the leg drop, so no in ring return, but if they find just the right person to put him with, he could be okay as a mentor/manager role, maybe. Doubt he’d take the pay that’s worth though.

That being said, I agree with CC’s comment. Hogan has very little appeal to modern fans, and even a lot of the people who did like him back in the day have slowly grown tired of his act.

No way should WWE spend anymore time on this guy. Not just because he is a racist tool, but also because we really do not need anymore retro acts on the card right now. Let’s spend some time actually focusing on young talent who deserve it.

We all know that the Saudi idiots had no concept of anything modern seeing as they were asking for the likes of Yokozuna, so you can bet your bottom dollar Hogan was only added to the card at their behest.
Let it be a one and done thing, that is it.

His star had started to lose its shine way before the whole racist controversy, and I cannot him getting much more than a small pop these days.
