Former WWE Champion could possibly make his Impact Wrestling debut soon

Dave Meltzer noted on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio that the former WWE Champion Rey Mysterio could finally be making his Impact Wrestling debut soon.

It was originally reported last year that Mysterio was talking to both WWE and Impact. However, his deal with the earlier fell down because Vince McMahon reportedly has a grudge against one of Rey’s representatives Konnan.

In December, the former WWE Star had revealed during an interview with ESPN that he wasn’t bound to any contract and could go work for whichever company he wants:

“I’m not locked up to any company, I’m an independent contractor, as we say. I could go work wherever I want. That’s the beautiful thing about being on this side of the fence. You don’t have a commitment with only one company. You can go around and pretty much wrestle wherever you want. You can choose when you want your off-days to be. That was one of my main priorities when I left WWE.”

Now in the latest update, Meltzer revealed that while a deal has not been signed yet, Impact Officials are talking to Rey and trying to bring him on board for their upcoming tapings taking place later this week.

While this doesn’t necessarily mean that he will appear for Impact, considering the fact that the company has lost a number of their top stars in recent times, there is no doubt that they’ll try their best to bring him on board.
