As we reported earlier on the site, there is talk of Rey Mysterio possibly going back to WWE. Mysterio has said publicly that he is open to returning to the company if he could get a part-time schedule. Mysterio doesn’t want a full-time schedule because he likes being home with his family. Things are not going so well for Mysterio in AAA and Lucha Underground. Mysterio and AAA are in a contract dispute because he is owed money. This would explain why Mysterio has not worked any AAA shows since late last year.
Dave Meltzer noted in this week’s Wrestling Observer newsletter that people close to Mysterio believe that there are issues that would allow him to get out of his Lucha Underground deal and return to WWE.
Friends of Mysterio believe that he will eventually return to WWE.
