Rey Mysterio taking offers from both WWE and GFW

You can ever say never in the pro wrestling business. Rey Mysterio is a former WWE Champion and was the idol of people all around the world. His Hispanic heritage proved to do him favors with the Latin American fan base but his appeal certainly transcended all cultures.

When Rey Mysterio came back to WWE during his last run a lot of people saw it as being a rather lackluster affair. Rey was booed heavily when he appeared at the Royal Rumble, of course fans were hoping to see Daniel Bryan but Rey has never been booed louder in his career.

Rey Mysterio wrapped up his last run with WWE in somewhat controversial fashion and never got a proper send-off. He started working the world’s indie circuit and eventually inked a deal with Lucha Underground. But Sports Illustrated recently reported after Lucha Underground’s third season airs in September, Rey will be free to go wherever he wants after a 90-day no compete clause expires.

It is reported Rey Mysterio is entertaining offers from both WWE and GFW at this point. WWE obviously would want him to return for his name’s appeal. It also might be nice to have him back in WWE’s good graces for an eventually WWE Hall Of Fame induction. The 42-year-old Mysterio might not be the young man he used to be, but there is still plenty of gas left in his tank.

Global Force Wrestling is also reportedly wanting the super-popular Latin Superstar to come in as well. This would certainly fall in line with their recent push of Alberto El Patron and he could be the new face of the company if things go South for Alberto and GFW.

But in the end it all might come down to money and positioning. It is reported Rey might entertain an offer with WWE more favorably because they could offer him more money. It would also be a great way to get his son Dominic’s foot in the door as he has aspirations of becoming a pro wrestler too. It is believed Rey taking another deal with WWE might help his son get a tryout at the WWE Performance Center.

We will just have to wait and see how this situation plays out though because Lucha Uunderground could always make Mysterio an offer he can’t refuse as well.

    No his response was good!

No need for the witty repartee. A simple “Not on mobile” would have sufficed.

Not on mobile. But please forgive me if I caused you any distress or anguish with my one extra post. It was not my intention, good sir.

    Under a mask*

They both claimed that they were his father (Rey was his father in real life). Then they had a match for the custody rights, which Rey won. So that Whole thing has been settled, and probably won’t be acknowledged again. Also, if Dominic/Dominick/Dominik wrestles, he will probably do so under a match, and the true identities of Luchadors are rarely acknowledged publicly. Unless he goes to WWE. They don’t give two s***s about Mexican tradition. Lol

If anyone can bring interest to 205 it would be Rey Mysterio but they’ll likely have him on the main roster, even though there won’t be much for him to do.

Strange.. I thought Dominic was Eddie Guerrero’s son lmao.. how will WWE address that ridiculous storyline?

    Dominic a wrestler? Interesting.
