During this week’s episode of WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair’s podcast, “Wooooo Nation,” Flair brought up the topic of Roddy Piper requesting to be released from his contract with Podcast One.
As noted, there were rumors that Steve Austin had Piper fired after some comments were made by Piper’s co-host during a recent episode of his podcast about Austin not showing up at WrestleMania 31. The co-host impersonated Austin during the show.
Austin mentioned on Tuesday’s episode of his podcast that he did not have Piper fired, but rather Piper wanted out of his contract with the podcast network.
According to Flair, WWE took away Roddy Piper’s Legends contract as a result of the rumored issues with Austin.
