While we all like to remember him as one of the most charismatic actors and wrestlers of all time, we shouldn’t forget that the Rock is also a human being.
During a recent interview with Express.co.uk, the Great One showed a more human side of his when he opened up about his secret battle with depression.
He talked about how he was devastated and depressed at the time and also recalled his mother’s failed suicide attempt, which she has no recollection of:
Struggle and pain is real. I was devastated and depressed. I reached a point where I didn’t want to do a thing or go anywhere. I was crying constantly. She got out of the car on Interstate 65 in Nashville and walked into oncoming traffic, I grabbed her and pulled her back on the gravel shoulder of the road. What’s crazy about that suicide attempt is that to this day, she has no recollection of it whatsoever. Probably best she doesn’t.”
If anything, a story such as the Rock’s shows us that even the most successful people in the world have seen their fair share of bad days and if you are going through something bad, you should hang on because life does change for good.
