ROH announcer Ian Riccaboni re-signs with promotion amidst interest from WWE & AEW

Ian Riccaboni

Ring of Honor announcer Ian Riccaboni has signed a new multi-year deal with the promotion, PWTorch is confirming. Riccaboni had signed a deal with ROH in April 2018, which he would have had to opt out of to seek new opportunities with different promotions. ROH was able to keep him for themselves with a supposedly attractive offer, so much so that Riccaboni didn’t even opt out of the deal to negotiate with other promotions like AEW and WWE who were reportedly interested.

He took to Twitter to offer a statement on his new deal:

“@ringofhonor means the world to me; the wrestlers, the crew, and the fans. We’re a family. I approached our office and producers about staying. They shared the same sentiment.I am excited to announce that I signed a mult-year deal to stay with ROH. Happy wrestling, indeed!”

Riccaboni started working at ROH in July 2014, and would go on to call his first match in January 2015. He would make his debut as a ring announcer a few months later, and would become the lead announcer of the promotion from February 2017 after Kevin Kelly’s departure.
