Roman Reigns feels WWE can benefit from off-season

WWE is known for having one of the most grueling work schedules in the industry. Between Raw, SmackDown, PPVs, live events, and tours throughout the world, it’s easy to see how some superstars could get worn down both physically and mentally as the years go on. Roman Reigns has an interesting idea to help remedy this situation.

In a recent conference call, Reigns stated that an off-season could do wonders for superstars. He feels that not only will it help keep them fresh and lower the risk of injuries, but it could also help creatively both with the performers themselves and with the writing staff.

We do it the way we do it, and I’m never opposed to trying something new. The formula has worked and Sports Entertainment is a ‘what have you done for me lately’ industry.

Unfortunately, we don’t have an off-season like most sports or other forms of entertainment or competition but, you know, I think if we could make it work, it would give a great benefit to our performers and our fans as well.

It would definitely give performers another couple of months if not a full quarter to rest and recover, not only from a physical standpoint, but creatively.

Reigns went on to say that it won’t bother him if the schedule stays the same, as that’s what he and everyone else signed up for, and he’s happy to be a part of it.

This isn’t the first time a superstar has brought up the idea of an off-season in the WWE. Some have pitched an idea of rotating off time, giving several superstars a month or so away at a time in order to keep everyone healthy while continually shifting the roster around.
