As we noted before WWE was apparently still punishing Lio Rush as of last week following his tweet about Emma’s release since the company had kept him out of action ever since.
Interestingly, soon after these reports came out, Lio removed all the WWE references from his Twitter profile, igniting rumors that he may have been released from the company.
However, once these rumors picked up, Pwinsider noted that the former NXT Star wasn’t released and he was still under a WWE Contract.
And if this wasn’t enough, Rush made his in-ring return during a recent NXT Live Event from Lakeland, Florida, killing all the rumors about his status:

It’s worth mentioning here that Lio not only returned to ring but he also won his match against Adrian Jaoude which might be an indication that the reports of him still having backstage heat may be overblown.
