Rusev mentions Hulk Hogan as a dream opponent

The Bulgarian Brute seems to, at this point, be back in winning fashion as he defeated Andrade “Cien” Almas on Smackdown Live last week. And with a mended relationship between all the members of Rusev Day, it looks like Rusev could be onto some big things in the future.

In an interview with the Gorilla Position, the former United States Champion discussed the evolution of his character and being able to do comedic segments while maintaining his position as a dominating competitor. In fact, he compared himself to Kurt Angle in that aspect.

People are like, ‘Oh, you should be more serious like this. You’re a monster.’ When you look at Kurt Angle, he did funny stuff. He stepped in the ring and he’d kick your ass twice, and that’s why I was like, ‘That can be me. I can do fun stuff because that’s what I want to do.’

When he was asked about a dream match with the various WWE legends and Hall of Famers, Rusev chose, what some people might consider, a controversial wrestler.

Hogan. He’s back in the Hall of Fame. Yeah, Hogan. Man, he’s the guy. I started watching wrestling because of him, and I came to America because of him. Definitely Hogan.

I talked to him a couple of weeks ago about some different stories about matches with Warrior at WrestleMania and The Rock in Toronto. He knows so much and has so much experience with so many stories to tell.
