Rusev On WrestleMania, League of Nations, Being A Singles Wrestler

Rusev spoke with The Mirror to promote the upcoming WWE UK tour. Here are the highlights.

Do you still have the ambition to make your mark on your own as a singles competitor?

Eventually, but I’m just focusing on the League of Nations for now and see what we can do with that. Even if you watch the WrestleMania match back, I took a bullet for Sheamus. That’s the kind of guy I am. I’m all about the League of Nations right now.

You have experienced two WrestleManias. What were your personal highlights of the two shows?

Well the first one, my match with John Cena was one of the biggest matches of the night, Rusev versus Cena, Russia versus USA. I don’t think you can get much better than that. It was a match in the making for such a long time and even though I beat him a month before, it was all gravitating towards WrestleMania. Obviously you have to bring your best and I did, so did he, and I had such a grand entrance. I think it’s one of the top five, if not the top three entrances of all time.

Have you enjoyed being a part of the League of Nations?

Oh it’s great, if I get tired I can tag out, somebody else can go beat somebody. I don’t have to get tired and beat people up by myself all the time. All the guys are winners, and when winners come together, only good things can happen.
