Rob Van Dam set the record straight on his latest WWE contract in an exclusive interview with VOC Nation Radio. Below are the highlights…

Current WWE Deal: “It’s definitely not a couple of appearances and I’m gone.”

On his schedule: “I’m definitely not interested in a full time schedule. I asked WWE before I left if there was anything for me part time (like TNA had offered), and they wanted me back but they wanted me full time.”

On WWE changing their thoughts on wrestlers working mandatory full time schedules: “Now things have changed; there’s different people in the office there that are more sympathetic and understanding to the road life combined with the wrestling career. They came around; this is going to be awesome. There is a lot of excitement.”

On the way that his signing impacted the industry: “There are a lot of moves that can be done in the ring to pop the crowd; there’s not a lot of things that can be done to pop the industry – – guess what I did? BOOM!”

On the power of the WWE brand: “A lot of people didn’t notice a lot of what I did over the last 3 years. With one 48 second video, WWE made RVD more relevant than he had been in the past several years. A lot of fans don’t watch (TNA). People were asking me if I retired, and I felt like a constant ambassador telling people to watch TNA to see me.”

    Sure, for a 12-year old

They were better than Austin Ares and Robert Roodes version, thats for sure.

As if the Kane + Daniel Byran going to anger management therapy segments were some form of “genius” – gimmie a freakin’ break

  • Pewp

When they have ratings of .8, they better worry what “clowns like us” think, us wrestling fans who don’t watch TNA is why its in the gutter.

Oh, and its in the gutter because it took a roster to die for in the last 10 years and wasted it all with storylines like AJ Styles having an affair with a prostitute, and Joe Park/Abyss.

  • Don Kim

I think this is the first time I saw Van Dam talk with senses

  • TOmC

You lemming TNA haters are so pathetic and hilarious at the same time … you CONSTANTLY rant and whine about how much you hate TNA – as if your opinion means ANYTHING to ANYONE.

Tell you what … you just keep watching the cartoon show that is WWE – as it obviously fits right in with your intellectual/educational level – and stop thinking that the cew over at TNA gives a rat’s ass about what clowns like you think.

    LMAO !!!

    This.

TNA sucks, and given their roster over the last 10 years, everyone who goes there is irrelevant, and just serves to spew the “WWE sucks, TNA 4 LIFE” line. Then, they all leave and tell the truth and return to Vince, realizing that just one return video does more for them than TNA ever will.

He makes a great point on the TNA thing
