Sakuraba Vs. Zaromskis Set For Welterweight Title Fight At Dynamite!! 2010

This past week, news revealed that Japanese legend Kazushi Sakuraba has been granted a title shot against Dream 2009 welterweight champion Marius Zaromskis at the year-end “DREAM!! 2010” event.

It is said the Sakuraba and Zaromskis will be meeting in a featured main card bout which could possibly even be the event’s headliner, this however, has yet to be verified by K-1 officials.

Though the 41-year-old vet has mostly competed as a middleweight, he’ll be dropping weight to compete in a lower weight class following two losses to Ralek Gracie and Jason Miller. The match will also serve as a comeback attempt for Zaromskis, who’s coming off of a disastrous Strikeforce run this year.

The only other fights already set for this year’s Dynamite!! card are a featherweight title fight between Hiroyuki Takaya and Bibiano Fernandes, and a lightweight bout between Josh Thomson and Tatsuya Kawajiri. Gegard Mousasi, Melvin Manhoef, and Shinya Aoki have also been in talks for bouts in this even, but their fights have yet to be finalized.
