After the likes of Nia Jax and Enzo Amore, the team of Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn are the latest WWE Stars who are subject to stories of having backstage heat.
It all started when Pwinsider reported that both these stars were sent home from the ongoing UK Tour and later they reported that it happened after an incident on the tour bus.
According to the site, Owens was complaining loudly on the bus after yesterday’s SmackDown Tapings and didn’t sit well with the individuals in the Bus. This was said to be ‘the last straw following a long few days of touring’.
However, this wasn’t the only reason for them to be sent back. ProWrestlingSheet reports that Owens and Zayn were supposed to feed for New Day after Sami’s match against Kofi Kinston on SmackDown Live.
The term feeding is described as “The heel’s role during a babyface comeback where he runs at the babyface only to be repeatedly fended off, with the hope that the series of bumps by the heel will generate positive fan heat for the babyface.”
While Owens did hit the ring as soon as Kofi pinned Zayn and attacked the New Day member as planned, he and Sami quickly bailed out from the ring instead of feeding for the trio as they were instructed.
The site also noted that several sources have reached them out since the report of them being sent home came out and they say that the duo has been slightly difficult to work with lately and they also seem unhappy backstage.
And If this wasn’t enough, Sports Illustrated reports that both these stars ‘went into business for themselves regarding their on-camera work during yesterday’s SmackDown.’
This is said to be the alleged reason why they were sent home and according to the site, the decision to send both these stars back to America was approved by Vince McMahon.
Though at this point, none of these sites say anything about what this means for the future of both Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn or what the company has in mind for them. We’ll keep you posted on any further development in this situation.
