Samoa Joe Injury Update; Mania return seems unlikely

Samoa joe

It looks like Samoa Joe’s foot injury is a bit more serious than originally thought.

On January 8th, Joe took on Rhyno in a quick squash match, quickly choking out the war machine. However, it was reported that Joe suffered a “minor injury” to his foot that night. Sadly, it seems it’s not so minor.

While Joe was already taken out of the Rumble earlier this week, it was assumed that Joe would still have a big storyline to work with heading towards Mania. However, it seems like he could be gone through at least mid-March. Joe was scheduled to face John Cena at Madison Square Garden on March 16th, but as of January 18th, the Destroyer has been pulled from that event.

It’s possible that he’ll still be involved in some way at Wrestlemania, but it’s unlikely seeing that he’s been taken off of a show so close to the event.

Last week, WWE Senior Ringside Physician Dr. Chris Amann stated that the WWE believes Joe is suffering from a plantar fascia rupture. This injury can take up to 12 weeks to fully heal, depending on how severe the tear is.

Are u people blind? He’s been injured as soon as he came to WWE. His arm has been wrapped up and he’s been wearing a knee brace this whole time. Not to mention being super over weight.

Just because he is out potentially until March and would not be given any sort of build, does not mean he could not come back at WM itself and make a huge impact.
Remember when the Hardys were thrown into a tag team title match on their first appearance back with the company?
If his feud was supposed to be with Cena, all they need to do is have a mysterious attack backstage on his opponent and then out comes Joe as his replacement.
Instead of being the culmination of a feud, it could be the start of one.

Absolutely sucks. Was really looking forward to him having a match at Mania especially since they didn’t utilize him at last years.
