Per Pwinsider, Samoa Joe vs. John Cena was originally scheduled to take place at this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw instead of the tag team match of Gallows and Anderson against Cena and Roman Reigns which we saw.
According to the site, the plans were changed because Joe suffered some sort of undefined knee injury during one of the house show over the weekend.
While not confirmed the belief is that Joe could be out of actions for about 4 weeks, though so far WWE has not acknowledged his injury officially.
This is an interesting news as WWE had announced the match between John Cena and Roman Reigns before the Raw episode and made it official during the show. It looked like the company had it planned for a while.
However, with the reports of Cena vs. Joe match being planned, it’s hard to say what WWE had planned for the former NXT Champion and how he would have fitted in this puzzle if the injury would not have stopped him.
