Seth Rollins Talks Title Run, Improving On Promos, Breaking John Cena’s Nose

Reigning WWE World Heavyweight champion Seth Rollins was interviewed at a WWE 2K16 event by Brian Fritz of Between The Ropes. Rollins touched on a number of topics including his title run, getting better with promos, and breaking John Cena’s nose on an episode of Raw.

On his world title run:

“I’ve been enjoying the process a great deal. I think that between the guys that I’ve had the opportunity to go against, big match settings including SummerSlam coming up this Sunday, it’s been pretty incredible for me. I’m learning a lot. (There’s) a lot of pressure every night to go out and be the man so to speak, but I’m really enjoying the opportunity.”

On improving his promos:

“I’ve surprised myself to be honest with you. It’s been a great learning experience for me. When I wrestled in other promotions before I got to WWE, even down in NXT the opportunities didn’t come to be out there doing a 15-minute monologue. Giving gifts to J&J Security and Kane and presenting a car and stuff like that. So, those types of things are not things I was just accustomed to doing. With more practice and patience and learning how to work a live crowd of that nature and on television as well, I think I’ve gotten pretty alright at it. It’s something I’ve really enjoyed knowing how to do.”

Initial reaction to breaking Cena’s nose:

“My first thought was, ‘Oh shh’ because you could feel it and hear it. If you weren’t in the ring you probably missed it, but myself, the referee, (and) John all knew it was broke right away. We just didn’t know the extent of it and then when John came up and I saw how gnarled his face was, it was pretty extreme. I’ve been in the ring with some wild injuries, but that one was as gruesome as they come.”
