Six-Man Tag Team Match Added To Ring of Honor’s Final Battle PPV

Ring of Honor issued the following:

After more than a decade, FINAL BATTLE RETURNS TO PHILADELPHIA! On December 18th, Ring of Honor will present FINAL BATTLE 2015 on Pay-per-view. Plus, the very next night, we will return for the AFTERMATH and a huge television taping!

The heart and soul of ROH is in its Philadelphia roots. For the first time since 2004, FINAL BATTLE heads home! This year, we will be LIVE on PPV from the legendary 2300 Arena! FINAL BATTLE marks the culmination of a year’s worth of rivalries and competition. There’s no telling who will show up and who will leave as a champion.  FINAL BATTLE is a must-see event for all professional wrestling fans! And the next night, all of the fallout will spill into a massive ROH television event!

When Chris Sabin threatened to hijack an episode of Ring of Honor television in Nashville, few took his supposed motive seriously. The mastermind of the Knights of Rising Dawn told the world that the latest attacks by the man in the red mask had nothing to do with him or the Addiction, a statement shrugged off by the ROH faithful as just another claim by a ‘boy who cried wolf.’  Sabin, instead, told the world that there was someone else behind the red masks imitating the Knights of Rising Dawn and acting against their best interests.

It turned out that Sabin was right.

With “Almighty” Christopher Daniels and the “Heavy Metal Rebel” Frankie Kazarian accusing everyone from matchmaker Nigel McGuiness to referees and the broadcast team of a conspiracy working against them to remove them from the top of the most loaded tag team division in Ring of Honor history, Sabin was left to propagate the intertwined conspiracy theories on his own. When he invited the supposed KRD imposter to the ring, he was no doubt shocked by who showed up.

It was a friend from the Motor City.

Friend isn’t a strong enough of a word. Alex Shelley, the man who revealed himself to be behind the most recent attacks by men wearing red masks, was like a brother to Sabin, winning tag team championships around the globe, before the two went their separate ways. Sabin and Shelley were last seen together in Ring of Honor challenging the Kings of Wrestling for the ROH World Tag Team championships.

While Shelley moved on and formed a tag team known the world over as the Time Splitters with KUSHIDA, Sabin was left to stew in his own devices. For months, the men in red masks frightened and intimidated the ROH roster, interfering in matches of all stature, including the 13th Anniversary Show’s main event in Las Vegas. Sabin has now revealed himself the mastermind of the operation, helping the Addiction capture the ROH World Tag Team titles for the first time.

Shelley’s words were few but powerful in Nashville.  He has made it clear that he wants a piece of his Motor City brother. But when word of Shelley’s return got back to Daniels and Kazarian, currently competing in the New Japan G1 Tag League tournament, they warned Sabin that the conspiracy may be continuing. They urged Sabin not to take any match involving Shelley until they return from Japan.

With that request communicated to Nigel McGuinness,The ROH Matchmaker compromised and signed Shelley and two partners of his choosing to compete against Sabin, Daniels, and Kazarian at Final Battle in Philadelphia live on pay per view! The two men that stepped up to the plate for Shelley? ACH & Matt Sydal.

ACH & Sydal and the Addiction are no strangers to each other. ACH & Sydal eliminated the Addiction from the Tag Wars 2014 final in Baltimore with the Addiction picking up the win in tag team action just a few months later in the same venue. The wild card of the six men on paper is Shelley, who last competed in an ROH ring at Field of Honor, but in reality, it may be ACH, one of the hottest stars in the world!

Will the conspiracy be revealed at Final Battle for the world to see or will the team of Shelley, ACH, & Sydal unveil the delusions clouding the KRD’s disillusion? We will find out in Philadelphia at Final Battle!
