SmackDown beats Raw ratings second week in a row

We noted before how the Christmas special episode of Monday Night Raw saw the expected drop because of holidays and the show drew less than 2 million average viewers.

Things weren’t very different for the New Year’s edition of the show either and the Red Branded Show remained under 2 million for the New Year’s Eve episode with 1.968 million viewers in the record.

What’s interesting here is that SmackDown Live was able to do better than Raw last week with 1.904 million viewers, making it the first SmackDown episode to beat the Flagship show in quite some time.

Now that this week’s numbers are out, we know that SmackDown was able to pull this off again and with 2.091 million viewers, the show has now beat Raw in terms of ratings for the second week in a row.

It’d be interesting to see how both these shows perform next week and if SmackDown is able to maintain its lead after the Holiday seasons are over.
