SmackDown Star injured, could be out for 6 months

It was reported last week that one half of the Singh Brothers Samir Singh had sustained an ankle injury during the January 16th episode of SmackDown Live.

He suffered the injury during the main event of the show which saw Jinder Mahal taking on Bobby Roode, in the finals of the United States championship tournament.

Samir reportedly rolled his ankle during the bout and fell to the ground. Due to the injury, he missed weekend’s Live Events and was missing from this week’s episode of SmackDown as well.

During the show, however, the former CWC Competitor used his Instagram account to share details about his condition revealing that he has tore his Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL):

“Last week I tore my ACL and it goes without saying that this past week has been very emotional. The more I think about it, the less it makes sense. All I know is that God is the sovereign of my life and that everything that comes to pass is his blessing. I thank you all for the continued love and support. I can’t wait to be back.”

As of this writing, there is no word on Samir’s return to the ring. The severity of the injury is not known either but the usual time for recovery for a torn ACL is around 6 to 8 months.
