SmackDown Star works NXT Live Event, Ignites rumors of being sent back to development

WWE SmackDown Live

SmackDown Superstar Tye Dillinger made his surprise return to NXT during the recent Live Event from Rochester and faced Kona Reeves in the opening match.

The WWE Star was said to be very over with the crowd and he won his match on the show. Below is the video of his entrance on the Live Event posted through NXT’s official twitter account:

His surprise appearance has started many rumors about what the company has planned for the future of the former ECW Star.

Prior to SummerSlam, it was reported that WWE may send back some stars to NXT which are not being used on the main roster and Dillinger looks to a perfect candidate for it.

While he was very over with the crowd in NXT, The Perfect Ten hasn’t done much on the main roster since he was called up back in April this year.

Though it’s worth noting here that AJ Styles has announced that Tye Dillinger will get a shot at the US title next week on SmackDown.

Whether this surprise return is a call back to NXT for Dillinger or just a casual appearance should be revealed in upcoming time.

    Former ECW star?

i think this was a case of random return for the sake of coming home for Tye as he’s from Niagara Falls and Rochester is just a couple of counties away from Niagara Falls, NY and is near the Niagara Falls area.

He’s over with the crowd because sadly the crowd are a bunch of morons like like to chant things, that stupid 10 chant is the only thing about him over because it sure isint his in ring skills!

I always thought he was called up too soon. I know he was in NXT for a couple years but I feel like he needed a main event run/win the title, just to solidify his brand when he eventually made it to the main roster. I hate seeing him waste away on Smackdown.

I think they should make him Mr. NXT at least until HHH takes over the WWE totally. Because I believe HHH when he in charge will let these wrestler be themselves.
