Charlotte Flair returned at this week’s Smackdown to save her best friend Becky Lynch from an assault by Carmella. After this segment, General Manager Paige announced that Carmella would face Charlotte later on in the episode. The stipulation for the said match was that if Charlotte wins, she gets a shot at the title at Summerslam as well.

Ultimately, Flair ended up defeating Carmella in the main event of the episode. Therefore, the Smackdown women’s title match is now a triple threat between Charlotte Flair, Carmella and Becky Lynch.
