– We noted earlier this week that David Benoit’s in-ring debut for a July Hart Legacy Wrestling event in Canada had been nixed after Chris Jericho got involved and was upset at Smith Hart for booking Benoit without Benoit receiving proper training. Chavo Guerrero, who was to team with Benoit, also backed out when he learned that Benoit wasn’t properly trained.
Smith issued his first public comments since news came out that Jericho became involved and the match is off. He wrote:
“Here’s hoping dissuasion of David Benoit’s debut works out best for everyone including every single loyal fan.”
