Spoiler: Former WWE Star returns to Impact, wins world title

Austin Aries

Former WWE Star Austin Aries made his return to Impact Wrestling during their latest tapings and won the company’s World title.

He returned to confront the Impact Global Champion Eli Drake during the tapings and ended up facing him for the Championship. The title match didn’t last long and Aries defeated Drake minutes later.

The episode featuring Aries’ return is expected to air on February 2nd. Below are some photos of the Greatest Man On Earth’s return to Impact Zone and his Championship victory:

After the event, both Impact and Austin himself commented on the title change via the following tweets:

No word yet on when Austin Aries re-signed with Impact or how long he’ll stay with the company but we’ll keep you posted if any further details regarding his new contract come to light.

I mean, I knew exactly what the story was when the image of Aries filled in the blanks. Not like spoilers in wrestling is really a thing anymore, but I would have kept the Impact logo as the banner.

  • Arnold Jackson

Such a immature thing to do. Way to wreck the show for people who avoid spoilers.

  • CC

So what about the people who have not seen Impact spoil it on their site etc?
You know you can actually stop being a petulant child? “Oh, Impact did it first!” .. grow up.

  • Nicholas Giambattista

This is why that company is dead. They just putting there title on who ever left WWE. No build up what so ever heck in a few months he will be gone.

And since i know ‘why the spoiler tag’ comments are coming, it’s there so you won’t click on the post unless you want to know how it exactly happened, the feature image only spoils it as much as the company themselves have

  • Anutosh Bajpai

i would have used a non-spoiler picture but Impact themselves posted the news on their social media accounts as soon as it happened, so it’s not much of a secret. I’ll keep it a secret when the company wants me too

Absolutely ridiculous to have his picture on the banner.
Still, I suppose it is different from his usual tactic of having two ex-WWE guys standing next to each other so you think its the more important one and get all excited.

  • My thoughts exactly. They have done this same formula for years.

  • Soulshroude

Hell of a negotiation tactic to promise Aries a title upon his return. Impact will try anything to keep what ever hold they think they have on fans.

  • David Keller

This is an excellant example of what is wrong with TNA; they hotshot the title to talent coming in from the WWE again. No build whatsoever. All hot-shotting. No substance.

  • JC Bolden

    That’s funny

  • Nicholas Giambattista

Impact is that still on. LOL!!!

  • Killswitch

The picture is a pretty big spoiler itself. No need for spoiler tags.
