We noted before how WWE taped the Christmas episode of Raw after the broadcast of this week’s episode and the same was the case for SmackDown Live.
As noted before, the company announced several matches and segments for next week’s episode of the Blue Branded Show which they taped later in the same night.
One of the most interesting matches that took place during the Christmas special was a United States title match between the champion Shinsuke Nakamura and Rusev.
And for the surprise of many, this match saw a title change and the Bulgarian Brute successfully defeated the Japanese star to become the new United States Champion.
No word yet on why WWE decided to have a title change during a taped special, but it’s most likely related to their announcement of refreshing things on Monday Night.
