Spoilers: WWE SmackDown Tapings – 6/8/2012

– Thanks to Fred for the following WWE SmackDown spoilers from Tuesday’s tapings in Greenville, South Carolina:

* Alberto Del Rio opens with a recap of his attack on Sheamus on Raw. Sheamus’s music hits, but it’s Rodriguez dressed up like Sheamus, including bright white tights and shirt to emulate Sheamus’s skin. Rodriguez does a hilarious imitation of Sheamus as Del Rio interviews him. Sheamus comes out and the two fight up the ramp. Teddy Long appears and books Sheamus vs. Kane and Del Rio vs. Khali.

* Alberto Del Rio defeated The Great Khali via submission.

* Baskstage, Naomi and Cameron dance for Teddy Long, and then Brodus Clay shows up. Long tells him that he is now permanently on Smackdown. Clay gets serious and says that he will treat his opponent tonight as if he is Big Show.

* Brodus Clay defeated Derrick Bateman in a squash match.

* Sin Cara defeated Drew McIntyre.

* McIntyre cut a promo demanding that an authority figure come out and explain why he isn’t in the main event status. Triple H came out, hit a Pedigree, and left again.

* Ryback defeated two local wrestlers.

* Cody Rhodes comes out and destroys the Peep Show setup. He cut a promo talking about Christian, until Christian made his way out. Rhodes reminded everyone that Christian used to be a heel and says that no one is buying it. Christian finally explains his turn, and says that when he inducted Edge into the HOF, he had a moment of clarity and realized that he wants to be remembered for being a winner of championships, not someone who always whined for “one more match.” Dolph Ziggler interrupted for his match with Christian.

* Christian defeated Dolph Ziggler in a non-title match.

* Michael Cole cut a promo telling people to “move on” past the mess from Monday. Hornswoggle came out dressed up as JR. He bantered with Cole. Damien Sandow came out and verbally eviscerated Hornswoggle. Tyson Kidd saves Hornswoggle, and Sandow leaves the ring. As Kidd and Hornswoggle celebrate, Sandow sneaks back in and beats up Kidd, hitting his neckbreaker finisher.

* Backstage, Striker interviews Kane. Striker asks about the look between Kane and A.J. on Raw, and Kane ignores it and stomps off. A.J. then appears from behind some crates.

* Antonio Cesaro (w/Aksana) defeated Jimmy Uso.

* Sheamus defeated Kane via DQ. AJ stared down Kane from the ramp after the match to close the show.

Ryback won’t wrestle anyone good, if their current trend continues then next week it’s 3 “local talents” then him squashing 6 midgets to show his “power”.

  • xXx

i wouldn’t be surprised if we find out that aj is kane’s bastard err, daughter sans the craziness

  • The Irish Bulldog

Alright,,,,enough of Ryback wrestling a bunch of nobodies….i want someone who is GOOD!! We know what he can do so lets bring out someone who brings entertainment….Not two nobodies please

  • raven

sheamus winning the title in 18sec is kinda justification for d Brian giving big show the shortest title reign in history brian now has the fastest loss in history i like it lol.

  • Blah

I think this actually sounds like a decent show, and for once, continuity and sense sounds like they haven’t been forgotten about on this show.
Also, (if it airs), it’ll be interesting to see if the McIntyre vs. Authority sketch develops some more.

  • d

Somebody call broadus clays momma he’s on the smackdown show now. Dolph vs christian should be good. Interested in this rhodes\christian fued but they need to find something for ziggler

  • SYM

Its improving but I really want to see No more World Heavyweight Title. It became meaningless when Sheamus won in 18 seconds. They should have the WWE title on both Brands.

  • SpudimusPrime89

No Way Out never had a gimmick to it.

  • ant

i think theyre adding aj into the kane cm punk d bryan storyline to make it more unpredictable who will walk out of No Way Out the WWE Champion but my thing is wasnt No Way Out sposed to have a steel cage theme to it and so far ive only heard big show and cena advertised to be in a steel cage match

  • Jimbo

Sounds like a pretty good SmackDown to me. The Christian/Rhodes and Punk/Bryan/Kane/AJ stories have me interested.

  • josh

“A.J. then appears from behind some crates.” I lol’d

  • rko

Triple H pedigreed Drew Mac. I guess this means they still like him.

  • Tom

I’m looking forward to Ziggler and Christian, sounds a great match. Infact I think this smackdown looks very strong, nearly every segment has a purpose and strengthens someone. Good to see del rio being built up again, and the Christian and Cody feud seems to be coming along well.

Hell, even Michael cole served a purpose but getting Damien sandow and Tyson kidd in a segment. Too much to ask for a ppv match between the two?…

  • Knightcon

The HHH part won’t air. And Teddy was still wearing his stupid “hello my name is” thing so he’s still Johnny lackie

  • Sam Peters

@Maxwell – if you actually followed the storyline you would see that McMahon is coming to RAW to evaluate Johnny’s job so Johnny is trying to please the fans like with having Cena face Cole

so this week on Smackdown, Johnny left Teddy in charge of Smackdown in the name of “People Power”!!

  • Dan

Apparently when Teddy came out he said that Johnny and his minions weren’t there and that he’s letting Teddy run the show for the night in his absence.

  • Maxwell

I hope they didnt just drop the storyline with Teddy, and Johnny like it never excited…at least have Vince say on RAW that Teddy is back in charge of Smackdown..

  • Maxwell

Not as bad as last week. This isnt too bad actually.

  • xXx

wait, why is teddy long booking matches? he gm again on SD or something?

  • Mike

Oh my god this is bad
