Star to break Asuka’s undefeated streak revealed?

So far WWE has built Asuka as an unstoppable force and the former NXT Women’s Champion has remained undefeated in the main roster too but now it appears that WWE has chosen the candidate to end her streak.

According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer, WWE is planning for the former UFC Star Ronda Rousey to break Asuka’s streak, though it’s not expected to happen anytime soon.

Ronda made her WWE debut during the Royal Rumble PPV last month and she is expected to be part of a Mixed Tag Match at WrestleMania this year.

Regarding Asuka, it’s believed that she won’t be announcing which Champion she will challenge at WrestleMania until after the upcoming Elimination Chamber PPV.

Since Alexa Bliss will be defending her Raw Women’s Championship inside the Chamber later this month, storyline wise it would make sense for Asuka to hold her announcement till then.

There was an article a week or so ago, Rhonda requested full time or she wouldn’t do it; “This isn’t going to be a one off thing, I can do other things, while making a lot more money.”

In all realism. Ronda’s like the only one i can see beating Asuka. No one but maybe an Ember Moon or Shayna Bazler come close.

Ronda Rousey hasn’t even had her 1st match so I don’t believe WWE is even thinking this Rousey got to earn her strip. Heck she probably will end up on Smackdown after Wrestlemania.

    When is he right

Not that I didn’t expect it, but still such a slap in the face to the rest of the roster. Beating Asuka could have literally made the career of any number of talents. Instead, they give it to someone who doesn’t need the credential.

    …Except when he’s right.

I don’t watch UFC stuff, but I’m a HUGE fan of Rousey. So I can say that the carry over fan base is already focused on her in the WWE.

I don’t think so they going to keep Asuka is going to lose to somebody who really needs to beat her. It not going to happen for a long time don’t forget this guy Dave is always wrong.

IF this is booked as a “battle of the arm-bar submission” match or even feud, it might work. I had not heard that Rhonda Rousey was going to be a part-timer, but it doesn’t suprise me. And while I don’t really like the idea of a Champion being a part-timer, if they can figure out how to work in a part-timer then I’m OK with that. Rhonda Rousey’s biggest problem IS going to be her fans who follow her from UFC. Those fans aren’t going to buy her losing to someone like Alicia Fox. So WWE is going to have to be very careful with how they book her – especially in the beginning.

    Called it…

Judo background or not, for women to have years of experience to not be able to beat her, only to have Ronda do it shows how little they feel about everyone. They should have stuck to the original plan of having Kari be the one to beat her.

It all comes down to booking. Yes, she’s a part-timer. Yes, Asuka is a full-timer. But Brock Lesnar is also a part-timer, and he’s wildly-popular. You know why? Good booking.

Remember when Brock Lesnar broke The Undertaker’s undefeated streak at Wrestlemania? Remember how he was “the 1 in 21-1”? Remember how p#ssed off you were when it happened? Now do you remember how you eventually got over it and forgave him/WWE? Why is that? Good booking.

If WWE books it well, it could work. Yeah, people will be p#ssed off for awhile, but they’ll get over it.

I want to throw up. Vomit. WWE is too damn predictable. BARF.

I called it the minute she was signed. What a shame.
