Stephanie McMahon Named Board of Directors for Non-WWE Company

Stephanie McMahon, WWE’s Executive Vice President of Creative, has been named to the Board of Directors of the USO’s Metropolitan Washington organization. Here’s the official press release, sent out Thursday afternoon:

 


 

STAMFORD, CT, December 22, 2011 – Stephanie McMahon, WWE’s Executive Vice President of Creative, was recently voted onto the Board of Directors for the USO Metropolitan Washington. WWE has a long history of supporting our men and women in the armed forces, so it is an honor for WWE to join the efforts of the USO Metropolitan Washington and support their important mission to serve those who serve and their families. In 2004, the USO Metropolitan Washington presented WWE with the first ever “Legacy of Hope” award for the company’s extensive support of our troops and the USO’s Operation Care Package Program. Additionally, WWE Superstars and Divas regularly visit military bases and hospitals, including Bethesda Naval Hospital and previously Walter Reed Army Medical Center, to bolster the morale of our troops.

Since 2003, WWE has produced its annual, holiday special “Tribute to the Troops” at military bases in Iraq, Afghanistan and the United States. WWE is also a proud supporter of the National Guard’s Youth ChalleNGe Program, which assists underprivileged youth obtain their GED or competency in a technical trade. WWE Superstar Kofi Kingston serves as a spokesperson for the Youth ChalleNGe Program.
