Steve Austin: Roman Reigns Needs To Become a Heel

On his latest Podcast, Steve Austin spoke to entertainment host Sam Roberts, and Roman Reigns was one of the topics of discussion. The Rattlesnake believes in order for the Samoan to become a main-event level babyface that he first needs to work as a heel…

“No matter what they do with him, he’s going to have to be heel first, and they’re trying to keep him babyface,” Austin said. “I think Vince McMahon’s goal is ‘he’s going to work as a babyface or he ain’t going to work at all.’ And he’s going to flop bigger as a babyface, especially when they put him in there with other babyfaces.”

Austin also believes Reigns hasn’t mastered the art of working babyface yet, and it could hurt him when he’s in the ring with someone who is a better babyface than he is — Randy Orton for example:

“If he’s in there with the wrong guy, who’s going to out-babyface him… Like [Randy Orton] did a couple of weeks ago. Orton blew him out of the water, and it was uncomfortable. And Orton cut a better promo than he’s cut in his whole career.”

So do you guys agree with Austin’s comments? Are WWE setting up the turn right now with the Reigns and Ambrose alliance?
