– Sting recently spoke with The UK’s Mirror Online to promote the WWE 2K15 video game. Below are some highlights:

Being involved in the game:
“Why now? It’s a now or never thing. I’ve done so many things in the wrestling business but the one thing I’d never done was wrestle or be a part of the WWE family. I didn’t want too hang it all up and retire and disappear again without having done that in some capacity.”

Having a match for WWE against The Undertaker:
“I’ve made it clear I’d love to have one last hurrah, one last big match hopefully. And of course I’ve been outspoken about Undertaker being the opponent. I know what happened at Wrestlemania where Brock Lesnar broke his streak. I think, or at least I’m hoping, that Taker’s still going to come back and that he’s not done. If he’s not done, and he would consider doing it, I’d love to work with him one time. I’d love to wrestle him one time before I call it quits.”

Sting also noted that he’s “all for” appearing on WWE TV to promote the video game and the match with The Undertaker could take place at WrestleMania 31. Sting also said it would be an honor to go into the WWE Hall of Fame.

The reason for the match is simple…It would be so much fun and we have wanted to see it most of our lives haha. Its about a common respect and a common greatness. Both were probably the most respect guys in their respective companies. Even if its not the best match the energy will carry it.

…and I would cry like a little baby probably.

D2K’s booking is much better. Smart fans have built this rivalry up, but casual fans wouldn’t have a clue, especially younger ones. Plus you can’t have Taker going in as a heel in his last match. Your booking is also anti climatic. I would argue that Sting showing up in WWE is more of surprise than Taker returning for WM . . . again. Taker out first, Sting out second to challenge and keep Taker from retiring. Face vs. Face. Icon vs. Legond. They both retire hugging it out at the end.

Obviously Sting would be a ‘safe’ opponent for Taker but there really is no reason for him to get back in the ring again. Even if he were to beat Sting, what would be the point?

The only way the could make this match work is to bill it as the two most loyal wrestlers in history. Sting to WCW and Taker to WWE. The coolest way for it to happen IMHO would be for Taker to come out with the purpose of retirement sometime after the Royal Rumble and then have the lights go out, and Sting appear in the ring. Have him pull out the bat, shove Taker with it, then gave the bat to him and turn his back on him. Have Taker look at the bat, tap Sting on the shoulder, point with the bat at the Wrestlemania 31 banner and then shove Sting with the bat and give his “knife-to-the-throat” gesture.

That’s how I would do it.
