RAW 1,000 And Why Stone Cold Steve Austin Wasn’t There

On July 23, 2012 WWE celebrated the 1,oooth episode of Monday Night Raw. I watched the show from my home in Los Angeles. After watching the show, I got on my Twitter account, @steveaustinBSR, to read responses to the show. There were many people blaming Vince McMahon and the WWE for not having SCSA on the show. And there were some folks who had some very negative things to say about me, personally.

The reason I did not attend RAW 1,000 was because I underwent a major knee surgery on my left knee on July 2, 2012. Dr. Neal ElAttrache of the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles, CA performed the surgery.

The surgery was a complete success. I am currently three weeks post op. I began physical therapy a few days ago. I had a world class surgeon and a great medical team working on me. I am now working with a top notch PT team. I am still on crutches and will probably lose the crutches in another week. Then I will be in a custom knee brace much like the braces I wore in the ring for 9-12 weeks.

STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN IS A 100% ASS KICKING MACHINE. There was no way I was going to limp down the ramp on crutches for RAW 1,000. It was time to get my knee fixed. The decision to no-show RAW 1,000 was made by me and no one else. I have always taken pride in making my shots and have never faked an injury or illness. Pro Wrestling is a tough game and it was time to pay the piper for some of the damage I incurred in the ring. No gripes. No complaints.

To the fans that were hoping to see SCSA, I’m sorry I missed the show. I would have loved to be there under different circumstances. I normally keep my personal business to myself, but due to feedback and incorrect speculation, I have posted this blog and given the 411 on why I was not at RAW 1,000.

I will post more blogs about my PT and recovery soon.

Steve Austin

both sym and ant can go eat a dick

  • john

only thing austin did ”sell out” on is.. arenas!! he filled the place!

  • yofits

Steve Austin SOLD OUT on the fans by not appearing on Raw.

He’s turning into another dwayne ‘the actor’ johnson … selling out on the fans who MADE THEM stars ..

Fuck Austin, Fuck Rock. Stupid sell outs.

  • john

maybe for the greater good getting his knee seen to, but all night i was waiting for the traditional glass shattering!!

  • adam

Austin missing was understandable and really having him unless he was named gm would just be over kill. As for edge appearing he like austin really doesnt owe anyone anything they both have given there bodies to this buisness so if they cant be there they dont have to be. Plus edge really cant do all that much anyways.

  • Bill

In a way, it was like he was there. Austin said he’d return to WWE to face CM Punk if Punk was a heel, & Punk did turn heel on Raw 1000, so maybe, just maybe, Punk vs. Austin will happen!

  • Tyler(:

The only person I saw who was ‘Salty’ was Wolfie, he literally spat his dummy out about it.

  • Wolfie

I just wish Austin had let this be known sooner, not that I am mad or upset with him. Also since WWE knew Austin wouldn’t be there they should have given us way more Mick Foley instead of that stupid Dude Love appearance.

  • D2K

How salty are the people that kept reporting every rumor as fact as to why Austin was not at RAW only for him to tear apart ALL those rumors with a COMPLETELY different explanation.

Seriously, those people need to shut the hell up. ALL of us were wrong. Can’t stun people while your knee is healing from surgery. I completely understand. At least I know the truth of the matter now. WWE get a pass on this one, but they are so far backed up in BS moves this really does nothing to take the heat off.

  • Wellsy

Would have been good to maybe have sent a video message to the fans, but totally understandable why he couldn’t be there. Raw is nothing without Austin.

  • ant

Fuck you sym it was me!

  • sam

perhaps Austin knew in advance Punk was turning, thus got his knee done so a match at wrestlemania could happen. its a wild theory but you never know

  • d

    Really another d ?

  • d

    austin sucks….

  • Stevie P

The fact that he had to say anything at all is pathetic. I honestly do not know how you guys didn’t think WWE didn’t contact him or want him on tv. Next time, wait for the details to come through and to not make any assumptions because in the end you guys come out looking stupid.

  • misfit del rio

And that’s the bottom line, cause’ Stone Cold said so. Had to get it out the way. And I agree with everyones post. He’s hurt can never hate on someone who can’t show up to battle. Remember his knees are shot and has a broken neck because he entertained us for so long. Him missinf raw is ok by me. Thank you Austin.

  • Jimbo

See? All of you douchebags whining and crying about him not being on the show…there was a legit reason.

  • SYM

How many times am I going to see this fake SYM. Quit trolling, you think your safe because your at home in your moms basement behind a computer screen, I’ll bet of we were face to face you wouldn’t pull this shit!

  • SYM

I love how JOE talks about people being “salty” yet his bitch ass was most likely right there with us.

  • TheSheepDog

SCSA needs to clarify nothing to NOONE, especially fickle, love you only if you do as we say turncoat ‘fans’.! He has made countless appearances throughout the years and has had surgery due to his days performing for US! So yea he does not need to validate his no-show, as he was never inked in to participate.

Edge on the other hand could have been there? but id be like the majority fickle audience if i criticised, so yea, like this or dis-like, either way you care.

  • JOE

How salty are people who blamed the WWE for scsa not being on raw?

  • mark

Well this is fair enough. Austin has never been one for telling bullshit. he tells it like it is.
