Stone Cold Steve Austin praises AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura

While AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura fought each other at WrestleMania 34 earlier this year, their battle at Greatest Royal Rumble was something entirely different. Nakamura had snapped completely, turning on Styles after failing to defeat him in New Orleans, and assaulting the champ whenever he had the chance.

The King of Strong Style, whenever he was able, would strike Styles below the belt any time the opportunity presented itself, including their WWE Title match at Greatest Royal Rumble. However, last night was apparently the final straw for AJ Styles, who would go on to beat down his challenger outside the ring, forcing a double count-out.

While the outcome might not be what fans wanted or expected, the match itself received quite a bit of praise. The bout between the two has been considered by many to be better than their Mania match, even with a double count-out ending.

One man that seemed to be impressed by Styles and Nakamura was WWE Hall of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin, who went to Twitter to make a quick statement. The Rattlesnake stated that Shinsuke is better as a heel and praised Styles for his in-ring ability.

It’s hard to disagree with the thought that Nakamura is better as a heel. Since his arrival on the main roster, he hasn’t had that great of a showing, losing a handful of title matches and not really connecting with the WWE Universe as well as the WWE would’ve hoped.

With a reinvigorated Nakamura and a more aggressive AJ Styles, we could be in for a great rivalry that could last for quite a while.

What did you think? Was their match last night better than the one at WrestleMania 34? Let us know in the comments below.
