– Coming off the successful Strikeforce: Miami show on Saturday night, the company doesn’t plan on slowing down anytime soon. According to CEO Scott Coker, Strikeforce is planning on putting together some pretty big marquee fights in the next few months. Here are just a few of the bouts that he mentioned as possibilities:

– Gilbert Melendez vs. Shinya Aoki for the Strikeforce lightweight title

– Bobby Lashley vs. Brett Rogers

– Nick Diaz vs. Hayato Sakurai for the Strikeforce welterweight title

– Cris “Cyborg” Santos vs. Erin Toughill for the Strikeforce female title

Coker mentioned that Melendez/Aoki will most likely happen in the summer. He also mentioned that Sakurai was likely to get the first shot at Diaz’s welterweight title since Jay Hieron’s (widely considered by many to be the #1 contender) contract with the company has ended and it’s unclear if he will resign with them.
