Striker Talks SmackDown Commentary, HBK Thanks Punk, SmackDown Rating

– Matt Striker says he would love to do SmackDown commentary but says there are more deserving talents such as JBL, Jim Ross and William Regal. Striker wrote on Twitter last night:

“Id <3 2 do SD cmmtry but I recognize that there r more exp'd & deserving voices: @RealKingRegal, @JCLayfield, @Jrsbbq... but a boy can dream" - The final rating for Friday's WWE SmackDown show is in and the August 3rd episode did a 1.91 cable rating, about the same as the previous week. This week's show averaged 2.78 million viewers. - We noted earlier that WWE Champion CM Punk was involved in the post-RAW festivities for Shawn Michaels last night after RAW in San Antonio. Punk told a story about how Shawn has inspired him since he was young and how he has kept his autograph since was 15 years old. Shawn replied to Punk on Twitter: "And to @CMPunk ...thank you!! I never told anyone the was yours to tell when you wanted. Thank you for sharing it w/San Antonio."

How come Striker can’t replace Michelle Cole?

I like Striker on commentry but I hope JBL comes back, he was brilliant in his role. Regal would be worthy of a shot too

I like Striker on commentary. He comes over as having a real depth of knowledge about the moves being used.
I marked out like a kid when he referred to a modified drop kick off the top as a “Jumping Bomb Angel Double Stomp”. Nobody else in the WWE would credit their fans with the historical knowledge to throw in a reference like that. It was nice not to be treated like a 10 year old for once in a while.
