- TNA announcer Taz wrote an interesting comment earlier this evening on Twitter:

“Couple of big wrestling shows in my “hometown” of Brooklyn! #RedHookNearBarclay”

WWE will tape RAW for the first time at the Barclays Center on July 15th, the day after the Money in the Bank pay-per-view.

His contract with TNA will expire in less than two weeks and as early as this coming weekend. TNA will have a show in Brooklyn on July 5th, but Taz did not specifically reference that date, venue, or MCU Field at all, instead cryptically making a reference to the RAW taping. All tweets have since been removed.

He did and he was over as hell at that point, if so you cant say that the fans didn’t take to him. He could’ve easily been a top contender yet by the 2nd half of 2000 he was feuding with midcarders like Al Snow and then 2001/2002 he was basically a jobber

Gotta watch The Rise and Fall of ECW again just for the hell of it

  • LoganSR71

I remember that match. The next day at school the only ppl that knew him where the ones that would trade ECW tapes. Once the ones who only watched WCW&WWF (at that time) saw the tapes, they loved him.

Michael Cole and Tazz fit each other like hand and glove. Tazz’s commentary work on Smackdown was superb. Which is why he retained that job until he left the company.

JBL is the one that sounds ‘forced’ to me. He talks over King and Cole various times. He doesn’t have any variation in his voice at all, and can’t make up his mind on whether he’s a heel, face, or neutral commentator.

He’s trying to be another Jesse Ventura and is failing miserably. Jesse was more heel the neutral, but let it be known he favored the heels. However Jesse would always give props to the face competitors for their skills and athleticism even if he favored the bad guy.

I for one would rather see Cole and Tazz back on Smackdown and JR/King back on RAW. JBL can go home.

plus all you ever get from him is “off the hook” “off the chain” every five minutes.

They didnt job him out. He came in, defeated Kurt Angle in a big way, but WWE fans just did not take to him. Shortly after that he retired due to injury anyway.

  • Rob ‘Richard Hammond’ Picken

Yeah because wwe jobbed him out to their homegrown talent because Vincent is bitter and always has to be top dog, hence why HHH ran over every major star wcw and ECW had

Argh no keep JBL on both shows as he is the best heel commentator as with Tazz it always seems and sounds forced.

  • Nicholas Giambattista

It could be the reason Matt Striker was let go. I don’t know to me WWE broadcast got a lot better since JBL been back. But Taz and Cole was also good together. Maybe the put Taz on Smackdown and let JBL just do Raw.

  • The Killswitch

Most likely just trying to create buzz.

  • Centerfold Skye

I never found Taz to be that interesting of a commentator. He was a better wrestler in the original ECW but after that he just fizzled.
