TDS [014] – The Prologue to Fantasy Booking 101

The past two days I asked you guys if you’d like to see a fantasy booking series hit the waves. Well, I’ve had an overwhelming response to it, so I guess that means it’s a go. But for the folks who may not like this particular fantasy booking type stuff, here’s your warning that this series is going to be nothing but 98% fantasy booking from me, Spartacus. Shall we proceed? Aight.

I plan on dropping these once a week to coincide with the weekly review type format I’m going to do with these. I will tell them all completely and 100% in the kayfabe voice. Tonight, though, I want to set the scene for the upcoming events.

It will all start with Extreme Rules of 2011. Everything is the same, only thing is the events between WrestleMania 28 and Extremes Rules took a much different turn.

First of all, Edge’s test came back negative. Thus, he doesn’t have to retire, and he is still your World Heavyweight Champion!

Secondly, Paul Heyman recently made a huge purchase in stocks and has become a part-owner in the WWE. His first conduct as a member of the Board of Directors was to re-instate the ECW Brand. The brand is going to used just as it was before as a brand for the lower carders to go and beef up and get ready for the main event, and for former main eventers to go and re-establish themselves. The ECW Championship will be brought back and a tournament was held on Raw and Smackdown to determine the champion. The finals conclude at the Extreme Rules PPV. Then on that following Tuesday, ECW will premiere on the USA Network in a 7:00-8:00 p.m. EST time slot.

The Hardcore Championship will also be brought back, along with its 24 hour defense rule. It won’t be exclusive to any one brand as it will be defended 24 hours on all 5 shows. Yes, that also means that Superstars is staying along with a re-vamped NXT show.

NXT will not debut until June 22nd when it becomes a fixture on Wednesday nights at 11:00 p.m. EST time on the SyFy Network. It’ll have a more in-ring focus to it, along with more “serious” contestants.

Paul Heyman’s second order of business was to sign all of the following former stars to contracts:
– Rob Van Dam
– Shelton Benjamin
– Mike Knox
– Montel Vontavious Porter
– Luke Gallows
– Vance Archer
– Shad Gaspard
– Mickie James

Now, you might say that they were all fired from the WWE for a reason so why bring them back? Not to mention that two of them are currently in TNA. Who cares?

All of those re-hired stars will be ECW stars, since the brand is currently without any talent. But, until the WWE draft, every superstar is free to appear on ECW. For those of you who care, the WWE Draft won’t be held until the Monday night after Over the Limit, so obviously the next three weeks will be full of big-time main eventers appearing on ECW.

I think that’s about it. About all you guys need to know for now. Trust me, it’s going to be some good television. If only, if only.

I have about the next six months laid out in my mind. I think it’ll be pretty good. I have some interesting storylines planned out, along with some surprise returns, and surprise signings! If any of you have any more questions, or want to help give ideas for booking don’t fret from it. I’ll only accept ones that come via e-mail, though, as doing it in the comment section will cheapen it when/if it appears.

I’ll probably return to this and lay out Extreme Rules and the proceeding week Saturday, or Sunday. Depending on when I get the chance. Until tomorrow, though, it’s me, Spartacus, saying wrap it, before you tap it!
